Evaluation and Publication Process

Before the Review Process

The submitted manuscripts are first reviewed by the secretariat. This review is done in accordance with the Preliminary Review Checklist. If the secretariat detects a deficiency in the list, it notifies the authors together with the checklist and requests changes. After the deficiencies are corrected, the preliminary review of the article is completed. Among the documents uploaded in the first application, the documents requiring signature must be wet signed and in PDF format (except full text). Pasting the signature image on the document, signatures made with Word pen or digital pens are not accepted. Articles whose preliminary review is completed are evaluated by the editorial board in terms of subject, scope, method, academic writing, etc. In the relevant review, the issues clearly stated in the “Purpose and Scope” title on the journal page are taken into consideration. Studies dealing with out-of-date topics, articles that do not fulfill ethical responsibilities or research outside the scope are rejected at this stage. This review is completed within 60 days at the latest from the submission of the article to the journal. At the end of this process, articles deemed suitable for evaluation are reviewed by the statistics editor. An editor is assigned to the articles that are decided to be evaluated as a result of the statistical review and the research is submitted to the field editor for review. If the field editor finds the article suitable for refereeing, referees are assigned according to the subject.

Referee Process and Publication

1. The article is sent by the field editors to two referees related to the field of the study for review. The referees are given 20 days to complete their review. If one of the referees accepts and the other rejects the manuscript, the field editor sends the manuscript to the third referee. If the referees request corrections, the study is sent to the author(s) provided that the corrections are made within 30 days. For edited manuscripts, the Response to Referee Form must be uploaded separately in addition to the revisions made in the full text of the article.
2. Acceptance decision can be taken for the article with the positive report of at least two referees. However, if the editor or field editor deems necessary, the research may be submitted to the evaluation of the third referee. The accepted manuscript is sent for language review within 30 days.
3. After the language review is completed, the authors are asked to proofread the manuscript and add information about the author, institution or derivative publication. After the relevant information is added, the article is sent to the spelling editor for Turkish and spelling review. The editor may also request some changes from the author and check these changes.
4. Articles that have completed the writing review are directed to the layout editor for layout editing. This stage is carried out in accordance with the Layout Checklist. The layout editor may ask for corrections when necessary and sends the article to the author together with the checklist. The article, whose layout arrangement is completed, waits for the appropriate issue for printing and is queued.
5. The copyright of the published work belongs to the journal and the authors are deemed to have accepted this during the article application process.
6. The opinions and ideas in the published work are the personal opinions of the author (s) and do not constitute the official opinions of the journal, the Faculty of Education and the Rectorate of Sivas Cumhuriyet University.
