Üstün Zekâlı Olan ve Olmayan Üniversite Öğrencilerinde Yaşam Doyumu, Kişilik ve Sosyal Adaptasyon

Öz

Farklı potansiyellerle dünyaya gelen üstün zekalılar, kendilerine uygun koşullar sağlandığında var olan potansiyellerini daha verimli kullanacakları bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, üstün zekâlı ve normal gelişim gösteren üniversite öğrencilerinin kişilik özelliklerini, yaşam doyumlarını ve sosyal adaptasyon uyum düzeylerini karşılaştırmaktır. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan Korelasyonel Tarama Modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya farklı üniversitelerden farklı sınıflarda toplam 90 üstün zekalı ve 86 normal gelişim gösteren öğrenci katılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre üstün zekalı öğrencilerin açıklık ve dürüstlük düzeyleri normal gelişim gösterenlere göre anlamlı düzeyde yüksek bulunmuştur. Üstün zekalı kadınların uyumluluk düzeyleri üstün zekalı erkeklere göre, normal gelişim gösteren erkeklerin uyumluluk düzeyleri normal gelişim gösteren kadınlara göre anlamlı olarak daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Normal gelişim gösteren erkeklerin sorumluluk düzeyi, normal gelişim gösteren kadınlara göre anlamlı derecede yüksek bulunmuştur. Araştırma sonuçları değerlendirildiğinde, üstün zekalı üniversite öğrencilerinin daha meraklı, sanata duyarlı, estetiğe önem veren, öz disiplini yüksek, görevlerini yapma bilincinin yüksek olduğu ve daha çok kararlılık göstermeyi tercih ettikleri söylenebilir.
