In this study, the answers given to the infinite, indefinite and undefined operations and the definitions of these concepts were examined together. By this way, the epistemological obstacles of these concepts were determined. In this context, epistemological obstacles were determined based on the perceptions of the mentioned concepts of the mathematics’ students studying at the faculty of education and the faculty of science. The design of this study is basic qualitative research. The study group consists of 71 students studying at the faculty of education and the faculty of science. The data of the study were obtained by means of a two-part test prepared by the researchers. Data were analysed using descriptive analysis technique in order to identify the epistemological obstacles related to the concepts of infinity, undefined and uncertainty. As a result of the study, it was seen that the students' primary intuition, which they gained through their daily life experiences, did not change their perception of infinity much, despite their undergraduate education. It has been determined that the students confuse the concepts of undefined and indefinite and they think that operations with infinity are indefinite. Considering the development process of concepts in the history of mathematics and the difficulties faced by mathematicians in this process, mathematics students and pre-service teachers can be informed more. For this purpose, the History of Mathematics courses in undergraduate education programs can be presented to students by arranging them to increase their awareness of the development process of concepts and the difficulties experienced. Thus, concepts that took centuries to develop can become facts that students can use in their professional lives, instead of remaining as a hypothetical course content
