Plagiarism Policy

The similarity ratio of the submitted candidate manuscripts to the Siirt Journal of Education is examined using the iThenticate software program. Authors are required to submit the similarity ratio file during the submission process. Articles with a similarity ratio exceeding 20%, excluding references, will be returned to the author. The corresponding author is obligated to affirm the absence of plagiarism issues in the submitted candidate manuscript by uploading the similarity ratio declaration file. Thus, in the event of plagiarism issues, it is stipulated that the authors bear full responsibility.

Siirt Journal of Education follows the guidelines outlined in the COPE Code of Conduct for Journal Editors. It rejects and disapproves of all forms of plagiarism and other unethical behaviors. Pursuant to the journal policy, the specified rules remain non-negotiable. If plagiarism and unethical conduct, which fall under the responsibility of the authors are identified by the journal, the candidate manuscripts are rejected or returned to the authors for revision. In instances of plagiarism or unethical behavior detected in published articles, the author is formally requested to submit a defense for the respective publication. Following the author’s defense, publications found to involve plagiarism or ethical violations undergo the retraction process. As a result of the retraction, the relevant publication’s bibliographic information is officially announced by the journal. The editor-in-chief and associate editors prepare a justification for the article, and the retraction procedure is applied to the article with ethical violations. The text file of a retracted article is blocked on the webpage. The reason for retraction is added to the system as a file to ensure its permanent presence in the archive.
