Manuscript Submission and Evaluation Process

Manuscript Submission

Siirt Journal of Education conducts a double-blind peer review process for candidate manuscripts. All candidate articles submitted to our journal must be original and must not have been published in any other journal before. In addition, the candidate article should not be under evaluation in another journal, and once the evaluation process for the submitted candidate article to out journal has commenced, it should not be submitted to another
journal until the evaluation process is concluded. In case of such applications, the manuscript(s) of the author(s) will not be evaluated in any way.
In submitting manuscripts to the Siirt Journal of Education, authors are required to strictly comply with the manuscript submission processes specified below. In this context, the following files should be uploaded during the manuscript submission process.

1- Title page
2- Similarity ratio declaration and Similarity ratio file.
3- Ethics committee certificate (This document is mandatory for studies that require Ethics committee permission)
4- Copyright transfer agreement
5- Full text file (The full text file should be filled in accordance with the journal template and any information about the authors should not be included in the main text file).

Authors are responsible for uploading the relevant documents to the system. If the requested documents are not uploaded, the article will be returned to the authors.

The candidate manuscripts sent to the journal are forwarded to the relevant editors for the evaluation process after the compliance of the above-mentioned files with the journal rules is checked by the journal secretariat at the pre-control stage. Candidate manuscripts that are determined to be suitable for the purpose and scope of the journal are directed to the field editors. The field editors appoint two expert referees in accordance with the blind referee system, taking into account the nature of the study. The evaluation process is explained below.

Evaluation Process

The manuscripts directed to Siirt Education Journal are sent to at least two referees for evaluation after the editor's approval. As a result of the evaluation from the referees, the Editor evaluates the article in line with the opinions. If the opinion of one of the referees is positive and the other is negative, the article is sent to a third referee for evaluation. The decision to publish the article is made according to the opinion of the third referee.

After the manuscript evaluation process, the manuscript revision report should be uploaded to the system for manuscript revisions made for the corrections and suggestions made by the referee (You can access the manuscript revision report from the forms and templates section).

In the evaluation of the candidate manuscript submitted to Siirt Journal of Education, the process described above is followed. This process:

In the preliminary control phase, the files of the candidate manuscript are checked and the manuscripts uploaded in accordance with the journal rules are directed to the editors by the secretariat. In case of incomplete or incorrect uploading, the candidate manuscript is directed to the responsible author for uploading the necessary files by the authors.

Manuscripts with complete files are directed to the field editors by the editors, taking into account the suitability of the journal's purpose and scope.

Considering the nature of the manuscript, two expert referees are assigned to the manuscript by the field editors in accordance with the blind referee system.

If the appointed referees give their approval to evaluate the manuscript, they start evaluating the manuscript. In case a referee does not give approval, another referee is assigned.

At the end of the referee evaluation process, the field editors and editors make one of the following decisions by taking into account the referee decision files uploaded by the referee. The final decision always belongs to the editors.

a) Publication is acceptable
b) May be accepted for publication after corrections (The editorial board checks whether the corrections have been made and decides)
c) I would like to see it again after the corrections (It is taken into the evaluation process again after the edits made by the authors)
d) Unpublishable (Rejected)
