Developing the Scale of Evaluation of the Quality of Higher Education's Community Service and Scientific Research
Abstract
In recent years, research and community service functions of universities are important in studies on the quality of higher education in the world and in our country. The main purpose of this research is to develop a scale that will determine the quality of the teaching service of higher education from the point of view of students. The survey method, a quantitative research method, was used. The data obtained from 360 university teachers were analyzed using the R program. As a result of factor analysis, a 3-dimensional scale consisting of 14 items was obtained. The results obtained show that the 1-factor structure of the scale can explain 64% of the total variance. In order to test whether the structure determined by exploratory factor analysis is correct, confirmatory factor analysis was applied with the R program "lavaan" package. For the confirmatory factor analysis, the information obtained from 200 university teachers was analyzed using the R program. The fit index values obtained from confirmatory factor analysis showed excellent fit. In the analyses performed for model fit, RMSEA-SRMR value was .04, GFI - CFI - TLI-IFI values. 99, NFI value .92 and AGFI value .98. These values show that the model fit of the structure formed as a result of the exploratory factor analysis was ensured. The scale developed within the scope of the research in terms of scientific research and community service of universities is hoped to provide support to researchers interested in this issue.

Yükseköğretimin Topluma Hizmet ve Bilimsel Araştırma Niteliğinin Değerlendirilmesi Ölçeğinin Geliştirilmesi
Abstract
Son yıllarda dünyada ve ülkemizde yükseköğretimin niteliğinin sağlanabilmesi ile ilgili yapılan çalışmalarda üniversitelerin araştırma ve topluma hizmet fonksiyonları önem arz etmektedir. Bu nedenle araştırmanın temel amacı; öğretim elemanları açısından yükseköğretimin topluma hizmet ve bilimsel araştırma niteliğini belirleyecek bir ölçek geliştirmektir. Çalışmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Açımlayıcı faktör analizi için R programı kullanılmış olup toplamda 360 öğretim elemanına uygulanmıştır. Faktör analizi neticesinde üç boyutlu, 14 maddeden oluşan toplamda % 64 varyansın açıklandığı bir ölçek elde edilmiştir. Açımlayıcı faktör analizi ile belirlenen yapının doğru olup olmadığını sınamak için R programı “lavaan” paketi ile doğrulayıcı faktör analizi uygulanmıştır. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi için R programı kullanılmış olup toplamda 200 öğretim elemanına uygulanmıştır. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizinden elde edilen uyum indeks değerlerinin mükemmel uyum gösterdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Model uyumu için gerçekleştirilen analizlerde RMSEA ve SRMR değerlerinin .04, GFI, CFI, TLI ve IFI değerlerinin .99, NFI değerinin .92 ve AGFI değerinin ise .98 oluğu bulunmuştur. Bu değerler açımlayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda oluşan yapının model uyumunun sağlandığını göstermektedir. Araştırma kapsamında, üniversitelerin bilimsel araştırma ve topluma hizmeti açısından geliştirilen ölçeğin bu konuyla ilgilenen araştırmacılara destek sağlaması umulmaktadır.
