Öz

Teachers’ Life Meaning, Psychological Capital and Gender’s Effect on Their Psychological Well-Being

Abstract

Öğretmenlik mesleği yükselen beklentiler, hesap verebilirlik ve sistemsel ikilemeler doğrultusunda stres, tükenmişlik vb. negatif duygular ile daha fazla karşı karşıya kalmaktadır. Fakat, taşıdığı anlam ve misyon açısından bakıldığında öğretmenliğin yüksek motivasyon gücüne sahip mesleklerin başında gelmesi beklenmektedir. Öğretmenlerin bu nedenle psikolojik iyi oluşlarının, anlam seviyelerinin ve psikolojik sermayelerinin irdelenmesi önem arz etmektedir. Bu açıdan, çalışmanın amacı öğretmenlerin “hayat anlamı, psikolojik sermaye algıları ve cinsiyet değişkeninin psikolojik iyi oluşları üzerindeki etkisini” incelemektir. Bu kapsamda öğretmenlerin psikolojik sermaye algıları, hayatın anlamı, cinsiyet ve psikolojik iyi oluşları arasındaki korelasyon incelenmiş ve öğretmenlerin hayat anlamı, psikolojik sermaye ve cinsiyet değişkenlerinin psikolojik iyi oluşlarını yordama gücü hiyerarşik regresyon ile analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin toplanmasında yaş, cinsiyet vb. olmak üzere katılımcıların demografik bilgilerini belirlemeye yönelik Kişisel Form, çalışma amacına ilişkin Yaşam Anlamı Ölçeği, Psikolojik Sermaye Ölçeği ve Psikolojik İyi Oluş Ölçeği dağıtılmıştır. Çalışmadaki veri toplama sürecine uygun örneklem ile seçilen 241 öğretmen katılmıştır. Korelâsyon analizi sonuçlarına göre çalışanların cinsiyet, bazı psikolojik sermaye ve hayat anlam boyutları, psikolojik iyi oluşları arasında değişen oranlarda anlamlı bir ilişkinin var olduğunu görülmektedir. Hiyerarşik regresyon sonuçlarına bakıldığında hayatın anlamı boyutlarından mevcut anlamın, psikolojik sermaye boyutlarından öz yeterlilik, iyimserliğin ve bağımsız değişkenlerden cinsiyetin öğretmenlerin psikolojik iyi oluşlarını pozitif yönde ve orta düzeyde anlamlı şekilde yordadığı bulunmuştur.
