Özel Dershanelerin Öğrencilerin Matematik Başarılarına Etkisinin Bazı Değişkenlere Göre İncelenmesi

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of private courses on mathematics achievement of students graduated from high school preparing for the university exams in private courses. This research, which is a pre- experimental design, was conducted in 10 different private courses in the central province of Kahramanmaraş in the 2010-2011 academic years. 1720 high school students participated in the study. After pre- and post-test match, survey and test results of 1400 students were evaluated. In this study, at the beginning of the academic year the personal information form and a maths achievement test formed of 40-questions including the Transition to Higher Education Exam (YGS) curriculum applied as the pre-test, the same test is re-applied to same students before YGS as a math achievement post-test in March. At the end of the study, the data obtained were evaluated using the SPSS package program. Data analysis of the t-test, variance analysis and the Tukey test is used for the detection of the groups formed as a result of variance analysis and pre- and post-test results of maths achievement test investigated whether there is a meaningful difference or not. Results of the analyses showed that the private courses impact the students’ achievement of maths positively.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, özel dershanelerde üniversite sınavına hazırlanan lise mezunu öğrencilerin matematik başarılarında dershanelerin etkisini ortaya koymaktır. Çalışma zayıf deneysel bir çalışma olup, 2010- 2011 eğitim- öğretim yılında Kahramanmaraş ili merkez ilçede 10 farklı dershanede uygulanmıştır. Uygulamaya lise mezunu 1720 öğrenci katılmış, ön test – son test eşleştirmesinden sonra 1400 öğrencinin anket ve test sonuçları değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Araştırmada, eğitim-öğretim yılı başında kişisel bilgi formu ve Yüksek Öğretime Geçiş Sınavı (YGS) öğretim programını kapsayan 40 sorudan oluşan matematik başarı testi ön test olarak, aynı öğrencilere Yüksek Öğretime Geçiş Sınavı öncesi Mart ayı içerisinde aynı matematik başarı testi son test olarak tekrar uygulanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda elde edilen veriler SPSS 15.0 paket programı kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde t- Testi, Varyans Analizi ve Varyans Analizinde oluşan grupların tespiti için TUKEY testi kullanılarak matematik başarı testi ön test ve son test netleri arasında anlamlı bir fark olup olmadığına bakılmıştır. Analiz sonuçları, dershanelerin öğrencilerin matematik başarısına olumlu yönde bir etkisi olduğunu göstermiştir
