New Generation Learning: Integrating Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy into Mathematics Education

Abstract

Today, integrating technology into the instructional process has become an essential component of students’ learning experiences. However, research examining the pedagogical effects of Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy in education remains limited. This study aims to investigate the effect of mathematics instruction based on Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy on students’ academic achievement and to explore students’ views regarding the instructional process. The sample consisted of 20 eighth-grade students enrolled in a public middle school in the 2024-2025 academic year. An explanatory sequential mixed-methods design was employed. Quantitative data were obtained using an achievement test prepared by the researchers, while qualitative data were collected through a written open-ended questionnaire. The quantitative findings indicated that instructional process based on Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy significantly increased students’ academic achievement. According to the qualitative findings, students expressed their views on the instructional process under four categories: positive experiences, negative experiences, contributions to the learning experience, and recommendations. Overall, the study offers a practice-oriented framework for designing technology-supported and student-centered learning environments.
