The study employed the descriptive survey and relational survey models with study group comprised of a total of 286 students. For determination of the students’ levels of probabilistic reasoning, the probabilistic reasoning scale used developed by researchers. The probabilistic reasoning was examined for six key concepts called sample space, experimental probability of an event, theoretical probability of an event, probability comparisons, conditional probability and independence. In the determination of the students’ levels of probabilistic reasoning, descriptive statistics were used and with Chi-square analysis, the relationships between these levels and the variables to be determined. As a result of the analyses, it was found that the students had the most 3rd level reasoning skills in the concepts of the theoretical probability of an event and probability comparisons. A relationship was found between the gender variable and only the sample space. A relationship was found in all concepts with the grade level. There was a relationship between the mathematics achievement and the concepts except independence and the experimental probability of an event.}, number={2}, publisher={Sivas Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi} }
